WOODY, CHLOE AND GANG HEAD TO D.C.

Kentucky's most popular canine troup, Woody, Chloe and gang will be off to Washington beginning the week of September 9 as more than 80 newspapers being publishing a 10-week chapter series, "Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington." Elementary students, teachers, parents and grandparents will follow Woody, Chloe and gang around the nation's capital.

The 82 newspapers participating in this year's chapter series project sponsored by the Kentucky Press Association have a combined circulation of 942,128. While 85 newspapers published last fall's 10-week Woody series, the circulation was 935,000.

Jim Asher, illustrator for the Woody chapter series, shows his granddaughter Krissy some of the artowkr for the "Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington" chapter series that will begin the week of September 9. More than 80 Kentucky newspaeprs will be publishing the 10-week series. The illustration shows Betsy Ross putting the finishing touches on an American flag. Krissy was the Betsy Ross model for her grandfather in drawing the illustration.
