New Era welcomes Dedrick to staff

Blair Dedrick has joined the news staff of the Kentucky New Era.

Dedrick, 23, is covering local government and business.

She is a 2006 graduate of the University of Memphis where she majored in journalism and minored in German.

She also studied at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.

While in college, she was a Scripps Howard Top Ten Scholar. She also served four internships, including one with the Scripps-Howard Foundation in Washington, a German television station, The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis and the University of Memphis Alumni Magazine.

She's also worked as a sports reporter for Bartlett Newspapers Inc. in Bartlett, Tenn.
