Special Election In District 13

Don White, general manager of the Anderson News and the elected KPA/KPS Board of Directors member for District 13, has announced his retirement and will be leaving the newspaper at the end of the month.

KPA is presently starting the special election to fill the seat in District 13. The district includes member newspapers in Anderson, Bourbon, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison, Nicholas, Scott and Woodford counties. Nomination forms have been mailed to the publisher at each newspaper in the district with a nomination deadline set for Friday, May 26. Any full-time employee of a member newspaper is eligible to be nominated as long as he/she lives and works in that district.

Following the nomination period, a ballot will be mailed to those same publishers with the name(s) of individuals nominated. The person receiving the most votes will complete the unexpired term for District 13. The current term expires at the end of the 2008 Winter Convention.
