MARCH Mid Month Update Legislative Update As the 2006 General Assembly session winds down, here's a fairly final update on legislation we've been watching the last 55 days. As you can see, a few, very few, will make it through both chambers and to the governor's desk. Several others didn't but probably will return in the 2007 session. Spring Ad Seminar April 27 and 28, KPA will be holding its 2006 KPA Spring Ad Seminar at the Holiday Inn South/Airport, off I-65 in Louisville. The hotel is located on Fern Valley Road at exit 128 on I-65.
NAA Minority Fellowships NAA Minority Fellowship Applications Are Now Available For more than 26 years, NAA has offered fellowships to people of color working at newspapers for industry training programs in editing, business, leadership and design. We are excited to announce the application for the next session of programs is now available.
Teacher Salary Reports Regardless that two of the last three state budgets have allowed school districts to choose a different form of publishing the financial statements and district report cards, that does not change the portion of KRS 424.220 concerning teacher and other school employee salaries.
Religion Reporting Scholarships Just a reminder for editors and reporters that the deadline is April 1 to apply for Lilly Scholarships in Religion program, offered through the Religion Newswriters Association. Full-time journalists are eligible for scholarships to attend any accredited college or university course in religion.
